The fourth finger is also called Anamika in India. 

There are many different stories regarding wearing a wedding ring on the fourth finger of left hand.

In many Western culture, the ring finger is designated as the fourth finger on the left hand. The main belief of the tradition of wearing a ring on fourth finger is that this finger has a vein running directly to the heart.

But The Chinese gave a beautiful explanation of this to get involved in more interesting and amazing facts.

• The thumb represents your parents. 
• The index finger represents your siblings.
• The middle finger represents itself.
• Anamika represents your life partner.
• The little finger / pinky represents your children.

Hold your hands like a picture.

Join your middle fingers back-to-back, and the remaining fingers tip-to-tip.

Now, try to separate your thumb. They will split up because your parents are not destined to be with you forever.

Now Reattach your thumb and separate your index finger. They will split up because your siblings will have their own families and lead their lives.

Now Reattach your index finger and separate your short fingers(last fingers). They will split up as your children grow up, get married and settle down.

Now Reposition your little fingers / pinkies and try to separate your ring finger. They will not be able to separate because your life partner is there to be thick and thin with you throughout your life.
